I

I no longer drive,
I refuse to race,
I stand,
Here,

I will fill time,
With unbounded space,
I land,
Here,

I weave a web,
And give wrapped in lace
My hand,
Here.

Life's Journey

Some travel a prepared path,
Obstacles removed,
Borders defined,
Comforting order holds sway,

Some go a different way,
Liberal thought leads
Through uncertain chaos,
To pave a new path.

Long and short,
No two the same,
All celebrate the diversity of life,
The only constant is change.

Pluck Heartstrings with Courage

A man may be able to change his stars,
But only fate will write his destiny,
Chances given may be used to effect,
Chaos will then randomly select
Which footprint if any will point the way,
Tomorrow decides what makes the next day,
Life is not fair and lady luck may flee,
Leaving dreams locked behind time’s prison bars.

Are the dice loaded in this game of life?
The answer must be yes for fate to choose,
What’s best adapted to survive the test,
Our dreams will evolve alongside the rest,
Until finally the music plays in tune,
Rhythm coming not a heartbeat too soon,
So changes through time shall always loose,
Conflicting discord causing pain and strife.

Will you play in the orchestra with me?
Or dance to moving melodies and sing,
Matching a dream to deeds for tomorrow,
Marry thought to care for all to borrow,
Pick your partner only with true love’s aid,
Then none can despise any choice made,
And hope shall wish that destiny will bring,
A symphony so your dream flies free.

Registration Mark

The caravan stands as a haven for me,
With frosted lines and a hand so fine,
Nature etched her own Cris design,
Music played in stars a sparkling melody,
A broken heart is healed with a butterfly’s wing,
Through such a window the world seems,
More beautiful than any secret dreams,
This gift is what winter nights can bring.

Keeping it simple sends a dragonfly too,
Born from water to conquer the air,
It flies so free even mountains stare,
Or is it a helicopter homing into view?
Rushing to rescue the life of a stranger,
Holding the greatest love humans attain,
In caring for others with no thought of gain,
Putting their lives frequently in danger.

An arrowhead points from darkness to light,
Many stars line the journey to one,
Through time space will continuously run,
And promises day always follows night,
I look through a window and hear a song,
No words can ever speak for a thought,
That sends a search beyond what is sought,
And dreams of where it must belong.

‘CRIS’ is an independent caravan registration and identification scheme that helps to prevent theft and fraud. In this country every caravan since 1992 has a unique CRIS VIN etched on all the windows.

A Leaving Song

Stay awhile don’t close your eyes,
Linger longer in the moon’s light,
See her slowly sail out of sight,
Yet keep her safe where mystery lies,
Her song illuminates dark ways,
With a flame that serenades the stars,
Dances on the wind through prison bars,
Warms a cold heart and despair slays.

Journeying since she was born,
To join her sisters in the sky,
She is destined to say goodbye,
From her influence earth will be torn,
Without her singing by our side,
A lilting gentle lullaby,
Who will soften every sad sigh?
Where will lasting love songs reside?

I don’t have answers to grace this page,
I haven’t the key to unlock the script,
Nor the ability the design to decrypt,
I’m only an extra on this world stage,
Another pair of eyes and ears,
Open for any sight and sound,
To imprint its’ mark then rebound,
And travel down the following years.

One Star

Hometown Holiday Decorations is the challenge set.

I substituted a trip into town which would have stimulated my chronic migraine for a visit to Delamere Forest, Cheshire, England.
Here are the decorations I found there.
I have put the photos into four slide shows with accompanying verses.

Deep in the forest the echoes are strong,
Time rings with laughter around tall trees,
Here a child makes a wish on a star,
Here you realise the child you are,
This song’s echo my mind will freeze,
And the music will remind me where I belong.

I take the reindeer trail like a child,
Eager to play the game again,
Nature displays her festive signs,
And dresses in many model designs,
Fingers dance in light where frost is lain,
A stinging leaf becomes meek and mild.

Christmas celebrations are all around,
No bauble shines so bright and clear,
No tree is lit like one of these,
This moment in time memories seize,
Simple beauty brings the heavens near,
To gold, silver and bronze winning ground.

I heard the echo of a brilliant star,
A child with wisdom far beyond her years,
Made a wish of pure innocent love,
Surely it belongs in heaven above,
Where waiting angels wipe away any fears,
This simple supplication no one shall mar.

This music deafened me with a silent song,
That echoed around the Wishing Tree,
I choose this decoration to give a light,
To shine through every Christmas night,
Set all unselfish wishes free,
And speed them to where they belong.

That's Amore

As performed by Dean Martin (click on this for a great song)

This is my entry for Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot the subject Carly has set is Pizza.

Please accept this small offering,
Instead of the whole picture,
Zeal and persistent endeavouring,
Zaps any failure to serve
An entry for your savouring.

The trouble is I don’t eat pizza,
Only I do like what lies on the top,
Perhaps what is presented above,
Photographs of the cream of the crop,
In the absence of any base,
Not forgetting this is what I love,
Gives my photo a matching small place.
