For Valentine's Day

From Colour Contrast Continuity

When love is in the air breathe deep,
And then Time will slow down to keep
That memory alive for longer,
While hearts grow stronger.

Shutters Open

From Colour Contrast Continuity

Over the water the laughter ran,
Like an echo of a bubbling brook,
Only requiring a fleeting look
From one that shows how silence can
Speak louder than any shout or scream,
And send it dancing on its’ way,
Showing the joy of innocent play,
That must pass like a fading dream.

Do not cry for the loss of youth,
Remember the follies and smile,
Maturity brings grace and style,
That dances with the light of truth.
Hearts shining with an inner glow,
Illuminate the darkest hour,
And like the lily’s fragrant flower
Bring fresh beauty where waters flow.

Over the ages let wisdom show,
That truth is in the simplest law,
And less always proves to be more,
Wherever it’s allowed to grow.
No song can match a silent grace,
That captures light with every move,
And then reflects it all to prove
Chaos can’t disturb serenity’s face.

Let it Snow

From Colour Contrast Continuity
Unseen hands cast countless spells so rare that no two are the same,
Time gives each a unique existence that must be sacrificed to any embrace from another,
Together they reflect all light back to the heavens that gave them birth,
Fragile individual beauty combines and produces an unconquerable power,
Until the heavens relent and exchange the echo of the first gift for the last,

And the sun returns,

Water flows,
Drink,

Blood flows,
With every heartbeat.

Catch or Caught

From Colour Contrast Continuity

A mist folds round a fisherman,
Will dedication bring a reward?
Or will chance as with love grown old
Fade away like the morning dew?

Silence hangs over the water,
And sinks below the surface like a lure
Tempting the trees to drown their crowns
In a world that holds all the sky.

The reward waits to be unwrapped,
A priceless present of pure peace,
Reeled out the bonds that bind fall
And are lost among calm reflections.

From Colour Contrast Continuity

Still waters will always run deep,
What past predator lies waiting
In the shadows of mindless thought
To devour the wanderer that merely dreams?

When the battle commences, wake!
Or surely you shall die, drowned
With the sleeping, no longer keeping
True to the law given to life.

Then the mirror will turn around,
And the skies shall hold the world
Wrapped like a priceless present
Given to life freely with love.

From Visual Counterpoint

With the disrespect of nature for a neat edge,
A small animal toiled through the night,
Living in a hidden world without light,
Heaving brown hills over level green sedge,
Declaring an older right to the land,
Rebounding from foreign frontiers,
With a determination that endears
Me to a wild creature’s courageous stand.

Dancing with Moonlight

From Colour Contrast Continuity

Water in mercurial mood
Captures moonlight for the last dance,
And a simple song of silence
Moves magically through the scene,
Gathering the liquid music,

A moment held in memory
Lives forever in the silence,
And sings through time without telling
The secret it captured for life.

A change is as good as a rest

I have decided to take a rest from writing until I am in less pain.
I have started a journal where I am posting only photographs with accompanying captions. I intend to try to improve my camera skills which at the moment rely totally on the auto position.
I am also having fun in Photoshop.

Thank you to everyone who has followed this blog and for your valued comments. I hope to see you at Colour Contrast Continuity
