Nocturne

'Hold Hope High' From Colour Contrast Continuity

Go to bed tonight and sleep away
Any thoughts that would constantly say,
‘This world and every soul in it will die
For the lies told,’ and the child will cry,
‘Stop! While I have time to live,
For we have yet much more to give’.

Listen to the child this world gave,
In simplicity we hear thoughts that save,
Live for the wonder of every day,
Go with words on your lips that say
‘I died trying to live with the thought,
I was given far more than I sought’.

Dream! Let your imagination fly,
Never allow the child in you die,
Carry your hopes and hold them high,
For in them your future will lie,
The darkness holds no fear for light,
That brings to the blind sight,

Happy St George's Day!

'Red White and Blue' From Colour Contrast Continuity

“…I must show out a flag and sign of love…”

‘Othello’ W. Shakespeare

Happy St George’s day!

The dragon is dead!

Long Live the Dragon!

Fly,
Flag,
Cross,
Contain,
Red,
Real,
White,
Won,
Blue,
Beyond,
Flight,
Fact,

Red, White and Blue,
Won a Reality Beyond belief.

The full quote I now give to anyone who has read this far.

"Though I do hate him as I do hell-pains,

Yet, for necessity of present life,

I must show out a flag and sign of love,

Which is indeed but sign."

The reason seems insignificant,
The reward so desirable,
Naturally,
Fooled again.

Dawning

'From Beyond the Horizon' From Visual Counterpoint

From beyond the horizon dawn breaks,
Some hear the silent music it makes,
And sing a joyful song again,
The sun returns to the heavens to reign,
First lighting up the skies far above,
While the Earth waits for the warmth of love,
Winter sways to the rhythm she must beat,
And spring soon cold darkness will defeat.

'First Light' From Visual Counterpoint
The water will reflect the light that falls,
Rivers will carry the echo of the calls
To their final destination in the past
Where the dawn of life broke loneliness at last,
And grew to listen to the music all around,
Searching for that one special sound,
To finally find the source not of this world,
For from beyond the horizon dawn is unfurled.

Beyond the Horizon

'To Beyond the Horizon' From Visual Counterpoint

You love only once beyond the horizon,
And see the past present to the future,
A crown carried high and mirrored deep,
Dancing in the depths while flying to the stars,
Playing music so softly no danger wakes,
Living in death, giving light to the dark,
You love only once beyond the horizon,
Once lasts a lifetime and for eternity.

Death of Reason

From Visual Counterpoint

I dance in the darkness of night,
I sing my song under moonlight,
I stand in Death’s shadow yet live,
The reason must be I have more to give,
More than the lies that surround me,
More than the betrayal from thee,
I live to sing beyond your sight,
I live in everlasting light.

I strive to see in the darkness of night,
I sing silently under the moonlight,
I stand in the shadow of death’s shame,
The reason is we all must do the same,
Now or at our last hour and finally meet,
The music that eternally plays so sweet,
That all our songs sound incomplete,
But love our death shall for love defeat.

I die because I choose to silently lie,
I sing no more upon the wave of a sigh,
I stand waiting for death to claim my song,
The reason swims in the river where I belong,
No angels will watch where I have been,
No music will play to what I have seen,
For I could not speak the words to afford
To pay the musicians, I spent it all on the sword.

Whispering Sands

This week's challenge is Footprints.

I wasn't going to attempt to post anything again after the problems I have been experiencing until I saw Greg's entry and again his photographic art encouraged me to try once more.

I only had two photographs that were suitable. Both were taken after the light snowfall we had here and I wrote a song that I hope adds a little warmth.

The third photograph is to finish the 'visual counterpoint' for the song.

My shoe-print
From Colour Contrast Continuity

My dog truly left footprints in the snow,
I left shoe-prints,
I left nothing personal that marked my way,
My dog left more.

The sands of time shall hold my footprints,
As I walk on,
I will leave my thoughts to mark my way,
The sands will sing.

The present echoes what has passed this way,
Time lives in space,
The sand shall fall steadily through this glass,
The present is.

The End

I am finding it virtually impossible to post anything on my blog Visual Counterpoint.
I like the word ‘virtual’ in this context.
I shall be putting my photographs on my website from now on and I don’t think I will even try to write the words that come into my mind with the pictures that I take.
I have no idea why I am being blocked at every turn and quite frankly I do not care anymore.
I never thought anything that I write is of any worth so I am more than happy to stop.
After a suitable time of mourning I shall delete this blog.
