A Gift for the Sun

From Colour Contrast Continuity

A ribbon wraps the dance with light,
Water held by frozen fingers
Sings a silent song to the sun,
For freedom.

When did she learn the song of the moon?
During the long winter night,
And now she serenades him,
In the morning.

A river of music flows,
Within a symphony of stars,
A wreath laid to the memory
Of the darkest hour,

When she danced in the shadow of death,
His mask fell to cover her face,
And music in moonlight taught her
Saving grace.
