Storm Lantern

Let storm clouds cover corruption and lies,
And torrential rain fall from angry skies,
Inhumane actions will stain the soul,
Bullies are cowards in an assumed role,
Yet no flood can again sweep this world clean,
The promise of the rainbow will light this scene,
And hold the fire of a bright yellow star,
That warns how dispensable we all are.

We hold the key to both heaven and hell,
The door we choose to unlock will cast a spell
Through space-time and beyond comprehension,
This action requires constant attention,
Somewhere the sun shines dispelling the dark,
So can the journey through the life we’re given
Shine and selfishness from hearts be riven,
Then shall the soul rise and sing with the lark.
